BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Baltimore area. The watch will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday night. Forecasters say hail, frequent lightning, and wind gusts of up to 60 mph are possible. Residents should stay weather-aware throughout the evening.
SPENCERVILLE, MD—A small earthquake rattled Maryland this week, according to the United States Geological Survey. USGS reports that a 1.8-magnitude quake centered in Spencerville shook Montgomery County at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday night. The minor temblor had a depth of 5.9 kilometers.
