Man struck by train in Edgewood

EDGEWOOD, MD—A medevac chopper is responding after a man was struck by a train in Edgewood. The incident reportedly occurred at just after 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning near the Edgewood Amtrak station in 2200-block of Old Edgewood Road. The patient has been critically injured, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. Motorists should avoid the area.

Edgewood townhome fire causes $75,000 in damage, owner displaced

EDGEWOOD, MD—Monday night’s fire in Edgewood caused approximately $75,000 in damage, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal. The townhome fire broke out at just before 9:30 p.m. in the 1900-block of Eloise Lane. Smoke alarms were present in the apartment and activated.
