Rescheduled Project Kuiper Atlas V rocket launch may be visible in Maryland on Monday [VIDEO]

BALTIMORE, MD—A rescheduled rocket launch may be visible in the skies over Maryland on Monday evening.

The inaugural launch of Amazon’s Project Kuiper was originally set to take place on April 9, 2025, but was rescheduled for Monday, April 28th.  The launch will take place from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Amazon will use a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket to deliver the first satellites of the constellation into low Earth orbit (LEO).

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to provide fast, reliable internet to customers around the world, including those in unserved and underserved communities, using a constellation of more than 3,200 LEO satellites.

United Launch Alliance officials say activities are on schedule for liftoff to occur at 7:00 p.m. EDT. The available launch window extends until 9:00 p.m. EDT for a duration of exactly two hours.
