BALTIMORE, MD—The Maryland State Police have announced their top employees for 2024, recognizing Trooper First Class Jack Hadley as Trooper of the Year.
Hadley, a member of the Maryland State Apprehension Team, was honored for his work in apprehending dangerous fugitives. In 2024, he located and apprehended 77 fugitives wanted on a combined 109 felony and 31 misdemeanor warrants. Hadley has been a Maryland State Police member since 2016, graduating from the 145th Academy Class.
Sergeant Steven Muehl, assigned to the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, was named Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year. Muehl was recognized for his initiative in creating the Highway Gun Crime Initiative, which resulted in 20 arrests and the seizure of 24 firearms in the latter half of 2024. Muehl graduated from the 134 Academy Class.
The Maryland State Police also recognized Emergency Dispatcher Supervisor of the Year Bethany Richards of the JFK Memorial Barrack; Emergency Dispatcher of the Year Lashonda Wilson of the Hagerstown Barrack; and Civilian of the Year Administrative Specialist III Latosha Clark of the Forestville Barrack.
