BALTIMORE, MD—Smoke from wildfires in New Jersey are affecting skies in Maryland on Thursday.
As of 8:30 a.m. on April 24, 2025, diffuse smoke is being seen across the Maryland air monitoring network, at the moment primarily along the I-95 corridor, extending westward into the Piedmont and into Hagerstown.
Residents may notice some smoke in the air on Thursday due to these wildfires.
Overall air quality is in the “moderate” range, meaning particularly sensitive people should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment.
