HALETHORPE, MD—Police fatally shot an armed man in Baltimore County on Wednesday morning.
At just before 10:30 a.m. on April 23, 2025, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the 5100-block of Leeds Avenue in Halethorpe (21227) for a report of a subject armed with a bow and arrow.
Once on scene, both uniformed and plain clothes officers engaged the armed subject. During this encounter, officers responded to the actions of the armed subject, resulting in one detective discharging his firearm striking the adult male.
The responding officers immediately administered life-saving measures. The subject was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Independent Investigations Division with the Office of the Attorney General is investigating this matter.
