NOTTINGHAM, MD—Crews from multiple fire & rescue companies teamed up to rescue a trapped fisherman on Friday.
At around 11:15 a.m. on April 18, 2025, units from the Baltimore County Fire Department responded to a water rescue involving a fisherman who fell out of his boat and became stuck in the mud in a shallow marsh area.
Responding personnel used mapping software to precisely coordinate the location of the victim and the 9-1-1 caller.
A boat from Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine reached the area and successfully rescued the fisherman.
Crews then brought the fisherman safely to the dock, where medical personnel evaluated him for injuries. They also recovered his boat and returned it to the dock.
Air and marine units from the Baltimore County Police Department and Maryland Department of Natural Resources also responded and assisted.
