Public hearing scheduled to consider landmark status for Perry Hall Annex

PERRY HALL, MD—The Baltimore County Council will hold an online public hearing next month to determine whether the old Perry Hall School should be added to the list of Baltimore County historic landmarks.

The hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 13 at 4 p.m.

The school at 9317 Belair Road was built around 1925 and used primarily until 1956. In the 1970s, it served as the Perry Hall Annex to alleviate overcrowding at Perry Hall Elementary School.

Residents can use this link to register to testify.

“I have made no secret that I support protecting this property,” said Councilman Marks. “The law requires holding this public hearing, but unless there is strong opposition of which I am unaware, my goal is to introduce legislation confirming the landmark status this summer. The property owner did support landmark status.”

Perry Hall’s 250th anniversary is being celebrated this year.
