PARKVILLE, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department is seeking on a missing Parkville woman who disappeared in 1984.
March 3, 1984, was the last time that Shannon Lee Potter was seen by her family at her home in the 2300-block of Foster Avenue (21234). It is believed that on that evening she left her home through a bedroom window, with the intention of attending a party. Shannon was never seen again and foul play is suspected. She was 13 years old at the time of her disappearance.
The photo above depicts Shannon at age 13, around the time that she went missing. Also above is an age-progressed photo from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children showing what she might look like at 48 years old. Shannon would now be 54 years old Shannon had family ties to Baltimore City, Maryland and Mississippi. She also possibly had ties to Florida and Colorado.
At the time of her disappearance, Shannon Potter was described as a white female, 13 years old, 5’5” tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She had scars on her abdomen and near her left eye. Shannon may have been wearing high khaki boots and a white fur coat when she left her home.
