Red Flag Warning issued for Baltimore area on Wednesday

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Wednesday in the Baltimore area due to strong winds and low relative humidity.

The warning will remain in effect until 7 p.m. on March 26, 2025.

Forecasters say winds will be from the northwest at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts of around 25 to 35 mph.  Relative humidity will be at around 15 to 30 percent.

Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
