BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service says there is an increased risk of wildfires and brush fires throughout the Baltimore area on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
The combination of low humidity and gusty winds will result in a greater risk of adverse fire behavior and rapid fire spread through Wednesday afternoon.
Relative humidity values will drop 20 to 25 percent across most of the area this afternoon. Southeast to south winds around 10-15 mph will gust between 20 to 25 mph. Temperatures on Wednesday will reach the 70s in most locations.
Residents should refer to their local burn permitting authorities on whether they may burn outdoors. Anyone who does burn should use extreme caution since fires can increasingly escalate under these conditions.
