Police officer out of surgery after being shot in Baltimore County [VIDEO]

CATONSVILLE, MD—A Baltimore County Police Department officer was shot near a police precinct on Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on March 13, 2025, an armed subject approached an officer in the 900-block of Walker Avenue in the parking lot of the Wilkens Precinct and began to fire upon him. The officer was struck in the torso and officers returned fire, striking the suspect.

The injured officer, who has not been identified , was subsequently transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

The officer is a six-year veteran of the department, according to Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough.  He is out of surgery and is in guarded condition.

The suspect is reportedly in critical condition.
