FALLSTON, MD—The Maryland State Highway Administration will begin a resurfacing project on 1.4 miles of US 1 (Belair Road) from MD 152 (Fallston Road) to MD 147 (Harford Road) in the Fallston starting as soon as Sunday night, March 16, 2025. The US 1 paving project is expected to be completed in late April, weather permitting.
Crews will work along US 1 overnights Sundays through Thursdays between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Crews will start on the northbound side, then work on the southbound lanes. Motorists can expect single-lane closures along northbound or southbound US 1 while work is taking place. Contractor crews will use temporary traffic signs, cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone.
The $1.1 million project is part of an areawide State Highway Administration contract to patch, mill and resurface pavements on primary State highways in Harford County. The contractor for these resurfacing projects is Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium.
Motorcyclists are urged to be aware of uneven pavement surfaces during the milling and paving work. .
Motorists should stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
