BALTIMORE, MD—Forecasters say dry and windy conditions will contribute to an elevated wildfire risk in the Baltimore area on Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service says the combination of westerly winds gusting 20 to 30 mph, relative humidity falling to 20 to 30 percent, and drying fine fuels on Sunday afternoon will lead to an elevated threat for rapid fire spread.
Residents should refer to their local burn permitting authorities on whether they may burn outdoors.
Those who do burn should use extreme caution since fires can increasingly escalate under these conditions.
