BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Baltimore area.
The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Forecasters say winds on Saturday will be from the northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph. Humidity levels will be as low as 15 to 20 percent.
The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and strong gusty winds may result in favorable conditions for the rapid spread of fires. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged on Saturday.
