CARNEY, MD—It’s one of the most delicious Saturdays of the year. Kona Ice has officially opened for the season in Carney.

The frozen sweet treat stand owned by Claude and Joni Elmore is now beginning its ninth year at the corner of East Joppa Road and Magledt Road.

Kona serves up snowballs, shaved ice, milkshakes, soft-serve ice, and also features event-serving food trucks.

The shop is open from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays.
