Whiting-Turner to relocate HQ to Goucher College campus

TOWSON, MD—The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is relocating its corporate headquarters to the Goucher College campus in Baltimore County, the university announced on February 26th.

The national construction management and general contracting firm plans to construct a new 150,000-square-foot office building on the campus as part of a “strategic partnership” with the college.

The new building is expected to be completed in late 2028 and will serve as the new home to Whiting-Turner’s local employees. The facility will also support state-of-the-art, safety-focused industry training and other community-focused initiatives, the company said in a news release.

Tim Regan, president and CEO of Whiting-Turner, stated that relocating the company headquarters to the Goucher College campus is a significant milestone. “This partnership brings together two historic Baltimore institutions with more than a century of leadership and innovation. It reflects our commitment to the future growth of our company while strengthening our ties to the community.”

Goucher and Whiting-Turner are creating a hub at the new headquarters to introduce young people to design and construction careers.

“As Goucher celebrates its 140th anniversary this year, we are thrilled to partner with Whiting-Turner, another longstanding Baltimore community member and national industry leader, on their new headquarters,” says Goucher College President Kent Devereaux.

Whiting-Turner has been headquartered at the Hampton Plaza Office Building on East Joppa Road in Towson for the past 51 years.

Gensler, a global architecture and design firm, has been tapped to lead the design and development of the new headquarters. Diane Hoskins, a global co-chair at Gensler based in Washington, D.C., will oversee the project.

Whiting-Turner and Goucher entered into a 50-year ground lease agreement.
