Nottingham resident’s Christian poetry book rockets up Amazon charts

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A new book by a Nottingham resident is gaining traction online.

From Pain to Peace: Weekly Prayers for Those Who Suffer by Sherrie Palmateer recently hit No. 10 on Amazon’s Top 100 Best Sellers list.

From Pain to Peace is a beautiful Christian poetry book that features heartfelt verses together with stunning photography inspired by Jesus. It walks the reader through conversations the author has had with God in regard to her physical pain with an internal disease that left her unable to bear children, and her suffering through the emotional trauma this—and the loss of a foster child—caused.

Then, a second brush with death left her wondering “where God was in her life – until she finally surrendered to His will and accepted His undying love for her,” according to a press release.

“My book is a combination of poetry and prayers that came from those moments with God when I was suffering deep pain of one kind or another,” Palmateer says. “It will lead you on my journey of finding joy and peace with God, in all circumstances. I hope by sharing these deeply personal prayers that I can help others, to know they are not alone, that no matter what storms they face in life, if they anchor themselves to Jesus, He will never let them drown.”

Sherrie Palmateer has worked for the past several years as the Director of Youth Ministry at St. Joseph Fullerton Catholic Church in Baltimore, and this past year the Director of Religious Education was added to her title.
