High Wind Warning issued for Sunday afternoon in Baltimore area, storms possible

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Sunday afternoon in the Baltimore area as forecasters say severe weather may pass through the area.

The watch will be in effect from noon until midnight on February 16, 2025.



Westerly winds of 20 to 30 mph are likely with gusts of 50 to 60 mph as a line of storms pass through between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

The strongest wind gusts are expected Sunday afternoon. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph may linger at times through Monday. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.
