Crews to temporarily close merge lane on I-695 in Parkville on weekdays beginning Monday

PARKVILLE, MD—The MDOT State Highway Administration will install new work zone traffic signs on eastbound I-695 (Baltimore Beltway Inner Loop) between MD 41 (Perring Parkway) and MD 147 (Harford Road) in Parkville beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday February 17, 2025.  Work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m. Friday, February 28, weather permitting.

During the installation, contractor crews will temporarily close a section of the far right auxiliary/merge lane on the inner loop from MD 41 to MD 147 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This work is part of the I-695 Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) project to improve traffic operations on I-695 between I-70 and MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard). The MD 41 and MD 147 interchange ramps will remain open with temporary traffic signs and barrels to guide motorists on and off I-695.

The State Highway Administration and its contractor Concrete General, Inc. of Gaithersburg, will use temporary signs and barrels to direct motorists through the work zone and I-695 interchange ramps.

The State Highway Administration advises motorists to plan for extra travel time on the inner loop in Parkville and to look ahead for other motorists merging on and off I-695 between MD 41 and MD 147.
