Uzbekistani man convicted of sex offense arrested by ICE in Baltimore County

BALTIMORE, MD—U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested an Uzbekistani native convicted of fourth-degree sex offense in Owings Mills on February 4, 2025.

Islom Gaziev, 65, had been convicted of fourth-degree sex offense in Carroll County in 2024.  He entered the United States legally in October 2015 via John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. He later violated the terms of his admission, according to ICE.

The Westminster Police Department arrested Gaziev for the sex offense on Aug. 20, 2024. He was convicted in December and sentenced to three years of supervised probation.

Following his arrest, ICE served Gaziev with a notice to appear before an immigration judge. He remains in ICE custody.

ICE Baltimore Field Office Acting Director Matthew Elliston stated, “Every arrest like this means one less predator on our streets today and one less potential victim tomorrow.” “Our top priority is public safety, and this arrest is yet another example of our commitment to protecting the residents of Maryland. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who pose a threat to our communities are held accountable.”
