BALTIMORE, MD—An approaching ice storm has prompted a Winter Weather Advisory for the Baltimore area.

The advisory will be in effect from 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5 through 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

The National Weather Service says mixed precipitation is expected. Total sleet accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of about 0.10- to 0.20-inch are likely.

A mix of light freezing rain, sleet, and snow will begin on Wednesday evening. Precipitation will then mainly become a steady freezing rain on Wednesday night. Temperatures will warm by late Thursday morning, transitioning freezing rain over to rain.

Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state can be obtained by dialing 5-1-1.
