Wife arrested after shooting husband in Joppa

JOPPA, MD—A man is recovering, and his wife is under arrest after a shooting that occurred in Joppa this week.

At just after 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, patrol deputies with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 700-block of Pickerel Place for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located the juvenile 9-1-1 caller and a female, later identified as the suspect, exiting the home.

One 35-year-old male victim was located inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was transported by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command to a trauma center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.



Authorities have determined that Milne and his wife, identified as 34-year-old Evelyn Milne were involved in an altercation that resulted in the suspect shooting her husband.  The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Harford County Detention Center.  She has been charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Evelyn Milne is being held without bail.

While charges have been filed, the investigation is continuing.
