ESSEX, MD—Police in Baltimore County have arrested two adult suspects following a shooting that occurred overnight in the Essex area.

At around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, January 20, officers responded to the area of Bayner Road and Sandalwood Road after reports of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspects were quickly located and placed under arrest. They are currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond on charges including attempted, first-degree murder. Based on their investigation, detectives with the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit believe this to be a targeted incident.
