ESSEX, MD—Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the Essex area over the weekend.

On Sunday, January 13, 2025, Baltimore County Police Department detectives responded to the area of Route 702 and E. Homberg Avenue (21221) following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

When detectives arrived, they determined the driver sustained serious injuries after his 2006 Subaru Outback struck and went over a curb before striking a traffic barrier.

The operator, 24-year-old Kahron Thompson, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. This case remains part of an open investigation.
