CARNEY, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks and Board of Education member Julie Henn on Tuesday provided an update on the renovation and expansion of Pine Grove Middle School in Carney.
The middle school project is now 97 percent complete, and almost all furnishings have been obtained. Baltimore County Public Schools is now working with the Fire Marshal’s office to complete final building inspections.
“This is a major investment in the Carney and Cub Hill communities,” said Henn. “It is one of two middle school projects that will greatly improve the Fifth District with modern teaching and learning facilities designed for student discovery.”
“Both the new Nottingham Middle School and the expanded Pine Grove Middle School reduce overcrowding at Perry Hall Middle School,” added Councilman Marks. “But more importantly, the Pine Grove Middle project will greatly enhance an aging school so vital to the Carney and Cub Hill communities.”
The project will provide 20,000 more square feet of learning space and 222 more seats, while updating the 1970s-era building.
