Centria Autism opens first Maryland location with new Life Skills Autism Academy in Nottingham

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Centria Autism, a leading national provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, this week announced that a new Life Skills Autism Academy (LSAA) center has opened in Nottingham, the company’s first center in the state.

Centria places an emphasis on early intervention with its LSAA centers, providing high-intensive, specialized ABA therapy to children with autism who are five years old and younger.

“We are extremely proud to open our first LSAA in Maryland, strengthening our dedication to Nottingham and surrounding communities,” said Timothy Yeager, Chief Clinical Officer at Centria Autism. “By opening a center in addition to our existing in-home service offerings, we are thrilled to provide ABA therapy to more children with autism in the setting best suited for each child’s individual needs.”

The 4,800 square-foot center in Nottingham will be located at 9900 Franklin Square Drive, Unit D (21236) and will be a temporary space while a permanent location is identified and built out at a later date.

This center can support up to 25 clients. Capacity is expected to increase at the permanent location.

Centria centers offer individualized treatment plans from a staff of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Behavior Technicians, prioritizing the development of everyday skills and social behaviors that will allow children with autism to thrive in school, at home and in their communities.

According to the CDC, 1 in every 36 kids is diagnosed with autism – illuminating an increasing need for quality behavioral therapy across the board. Centria is continuing to honor their commitment to supporting those on the spectrum with additional center openings planned in Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Virginia, joining the lineup of existing locations open in Oregon, Michigan, Indiana, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
