BALTIMORE, MD—A Maryland Lottery player in Harford County rang in the new year in style with a big win in one of the last drawings of 2024.
Edgewood Liquors, Grocery & Deli in Edgewood sold a second-tier winning ticket for the December 31 Cash4Life drawing, and the lucky winner gets to start 2025 with a choice: They can receive $1,000 a week for life (paid in annual installments of $52,000), or opt for a one-time payment of $1 million.
Meanwhile, a Powerball player in Baltimore County won $150,000 last week, and five scratch-off players in Glen Burnie, Greenbelt, Langley Park, Silver Spring, and Wheaton each won $50,000 prizes.
Across Maryland, and across all games, the Maryland Lottery paid more than $37.8 million in prizes during the week of December 30 – January 5, including 26 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed in that seven-day span.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
