BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the entire state of Maryland as the Baltimore area braces for its first significant snowfall since January 2022.

The watch will be in effect from 10 p.m. on Sunday night through 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Forecasters say heavy snow is likely as a winter storm approaches the area.  Total snow accumulations of 5 inches or greater are possible. A localized band with up to 10 inches of snow is possible in some areas.

Travel could become very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact both the Monday morning and evening commutes.

Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation officials say snow removal crews say they are ready for the storm.  To get real-time updates on your community, click here.
