BALTIMORE, MD—The New Year will get off to a blustery start in the Baltimore area.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory, which will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Forecasters say to expect westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts of up to 50 mph.
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few sporadic power outages may result. Highest gusts will likely occur late Wednesday morning through Wednesday mid-afternoon.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists should use extra caution.
Residents should secure loose outdoor objects as well.
