Three teens, two adults arrested in Essex following carjacking in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE, MD—Three teens and two adults were arrested in Essex on Monday night following a carjacking in Baltimore City.

At around 10:30 p.m. on December 30, 2024, officers with the Baltimore Police Department responded to the 300-block of Elreno Street to investigate a reported carjacking.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who said that he was at the intersection of Bank Street and Elreno Street when he observed a black-colored vehicle approaching him.

Two unidentified males exited that vehicle, displayed a handgun, and demanded that he exit his vehicle. The suspects then entered the vehicles and drove southbound on Elreno Street toward Eastern Avenue.

Foxtrot was requested and responded for a search of the area. Officers contacted OnStar, which was installed in the victim’s vehicle.  OnStar advised that the vehicle was located in the 1200-block of Bridge Crossing Road in Essex.

Foxtrot arrived at the location and spotted the vehicle. Officers responded to the location with the assistance of the Baltimore County Police Department. The suspects bailed out of the vehicle and, after a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended three juveniles (a 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male) and two adults (an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male). Officers also recovered a Glock 17 replica from one of the juvenile suspects. The suspect vehicle and the carjacked vehicle were both recovered.

All suspects were transported to the Central Booking intake facility and Juvenile Booking and charged.
