Former Maryland Secretary of Agriculture Hagner Mister passes at 90

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Hagner Mister, who served as Maryland’s sixth Secretary of Agriculture from January 2001 to January 2003, passed away on December 30, 2024. He was 90 years old.

Prior to his appointment as Secretary, Mister served as the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Deputy Secretary for three years.

Mister is survived by his wife, Helen Ann, and their three children, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
