BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Baltimore area.
The advisory will be in effect from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
Forecasters say freezing rain is expected to develop throughout the area. Ice accumulations of a few hundredths of an inch are expected. A dusting to one tenth of an inch of snow is also possible.
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute.
Precipitation will begin as light freezing rain along the I-95 corridor around or just before sunrise. Some snow could mix in at times, though that is most likely along and north of I-70. Precipitation will transition to a mix of rain and freezing rain late Tuesday morning, before coming to an end early Tuesday afternoon.
Motorists should down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.
