Eastern Technical High School students go off-campus to explore culinary, building trades, and engineering careers

ESSEX, MD—Atlas Restaurant Group’s corporate chef, Chef Aaron Taylor, met with 30 Eastern Tech students interested in the culinary and hospitality industries on November 19.

The students, all in Grades 10 and 11, were able to observe and ask questions about management and marketing for some of the most successful restaurants in Baltimore.

Students toured Maximón and The Bygone restaurants in The Four Seasons Hotel and participated in food demonstrations at Azumi, followed by a sushi lunch provided by the Atlas Group at Azumi.

The following day, 40 Eastern Tech juniors participated in a “Grow the Trades” event sponsored by Stanley Black & Decker and DEWALT. These students are interested in pursuing careers in the building trades or in engineering design.

Students participated in multiple workshops, toured the facilities, observed the research and development process, learned about product marketing and training, and met with DEWALT executives. DEWALT also provided all participants with tool bags and tools and hosted an apprenticeship event.
