MIDDLE RIVER, MD—Tito’s Fried Chicken celebrated its grand opening in Middle River last week.
This location is the fourth establishment of Taco Love, a well-regarded restaurant situated on Philadelphia Road (Route 7) in White Marsh. Taco Love is a family-owned business that has received numerous accolades over the years from Baltimore Magazine and received a Favorite Restaurant Award from The Avenue News earlier this year.
Taco Love Grill is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Gelmin and Jimena Portillo, who have traveled extensively to immerse themselves in Mexican cuisine and culture. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients , cooking meats to order, and making house-made tortillas.
Tito’s Fried Chicken is located at 105 Carroll Island Road in Middle River, across from Walmart. Gelmin and Jimena Portillo were joined by Tito and Wendy, who will manage the new restaurant, as well as Delegate Ryan Nawrocki, Delegate Kathy Szeliga, and Father Claudio Piccololongo. The grand opening featured a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and a special blessing of the space by Father Claudio.
All locations of Taco Love Grill are closed on Sundays, a tradition many Christian-owned businesses uphold. This exciting new venture “symbolizes the Portillo family’s commitment to providing the Middle River community with delicious, high-quality food in a welcoming atmosphere.”
Tito’s Fried Chicken offers a menu that includes classic fried chicken favorites and some Salvadoran-style chicken dishes.
