Police Chief McCullough, BCoFD, Councilman Marks, Ravens Roost members, distribute free Thanksgiving meals to 200+ families

BOWLEYS QUARTERS, MD—Over the weekend, Ravens Roost 139 members were joined by first responders and local elected officials to distribute full meals to 215 families – including turkey, pie, green beans, stuffing, yams, etc. – who are experiencing financial difficulties.

The event took place at the Bowleys Quarters Improvement Association headquarters, located at 1124 Bowleys Quarters Road in Baltimore County. Local grocer Geresbeck’s donated food and offered the remainder of the meals at cost, which was purchased by Ravens Roost 139.

“Supporting those in need and giving back to our eastern Baltimore County communities are always Ravens Roost 139’s top priorities,” said “Feed the Families” organizer and Roost member Pat Farrell. “More than 200 families in Eastern Baltimore County will enjoy a delicious meal this Thanksgiving – being able to focus on time with family and loved ones instead of an often-unmanageable expense. We couldn’t have done it without the hard work and commitment of our members and the generous donation from Geresbeck’s Food Market, a neighborhood staple that always goes above and beyond to give back to the people it serves.”

“Geresbeck’s is a proud partner of this wonderful event,” said Geresbeck’s vice president Justin Graham. “There is no better time than the holidays to give back to the community who has supported us for so many years. We are extremely grateful for the longtime relationships we’ve built over the last 50 years in the beautiful neighborhood of Bowleys Quarters. Our family-owned small business wouldn’t be able to survive without our amazing loyal customers and employees. The holiday season is very special to our family and we hope to add a little cheer to those who are in need of some extra love this year. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this great event and Happy Thanksgiving!”

Families were identified through communication with several local schools.

Attendees included Baltimore County Police Chief Rob McCullough, the Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine, state and local elected officials – including Councilman David Marks, Today’s 101.9 Morning Show Host Greg Carpenter, Geresbeck’s Vice President Justin Graham, and Ravens Roost 139 members.

Home deliveries were made to those without transportation by Bowleys Quarters volunteer firefighters.
