TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County Public Library is spreading the news—sleep in this Black Friday and enjoy the savings of the library. It’s 100% free sale can be enjoyed 365 days a year. With a library card, families can enjoy books, CDs, DVDs, programs, and more.
Customers can come into any of BCPL’s 19 branches and sign up for a library card or grab an e-card to start saving immediately. Current shopping trends include Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet ($13.98), EA Sports College Football 25 ($69.99) and social media sensation Freida McFadden ($14.49 for paperback)—and customers can borrow all of these for free with a library card. The library also has adventure kits, board games, Chromebooks, hotspots, and more for families to borrow through its Library of Things, keeping them entertained throughout the holiday season.
However, 21st century libraries are more than what is Storystacked on the shelves. Baltimore County Public Library is a community hub filled with an array of programs for birth and beyond from arts and crafts, gaming, history and STEM to performances from local groups, like Chesapeake Ballet, Turtle Dance, Phil Ravita Jazz Group and more. If an experience is on your holiday wish list, head to one of our two Storyville locations. This free child-sized village features developmentally appropriate books, toys and activities for children birth to age 5 and their parents or caregivers. For those looking to gain a new skill by the end of the year, the library offers computer classes, LinkedIn Learning, Mango Languages and Peterson’s Test, and Career Prep.
