BALTIMORE, MD—Delegate Carl Jackson recently helped a local veteran get his roof repaired after a tree fell on his home.
In 2023, a tree fell on a residence owned by Navy veteran Wayne Lingham, who lives on Powell Avenue in northeast Baltimore. Community leader Pam Curtis put him in touch with Delegate Jackson.
The force of the impact damaged the roof, which needed replacing for long-term safety. Delegate Jackson reached out to the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs. They eventually got in touch with officials at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, who agreed to replace the entire roof.
“I could not be happier that we were able to help a Veteran and constituent,” said Delegate Jackson. “Thank you to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and Meals on Wheels for their amazing work!”
