TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Fire Department officially has a new leader.
Joseph Dixon was sworn in as Fire Chief in a Monday morning ceremony in Towson.
Dixon began his career as a firefighter in Howard County in 1993. He has served in many different roles including Assistant Fire/EMS Chief and Public Information Officer. He was also a Battalion Chief, Captain and Emergency Services Instructor.
“Identifying the right leader to guide the Baltimore County Fire Department in continuing to keep our communities safe is one of the most important decisions I make,” said County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “I have full confidence in Chief Joseph Dixon’s leadership and commitment to providing world-class services to our communities.”
