Councilman Marks secures $1.2 million for new road, park projects

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks has announced that the supplemental capital budget passed on Monday, October 21 includes $1.2 million for road and park projects in northeastern Baltimore County.

At Councilman Marks’ request, the budget includes $400,000 to implement traffic calming along Campbell Boulevard near the Windlass Run community in Middle River, a project strongly supported by the neighborhood.

The budget also includes $400,000 to erect the new traffic signal at Campbell Boulevard and Bird River Road, another improvement sought by the community.

Both projects meet all engineering standards and should be ready to advance to construction.

“We appreciate Councilman Marks’ work in advancing these improvements that should make our roads safer,” said Preserve at Windlass Run HOA President Ray Peele.

The Baltimore County Council also approved $400,000 in additional funding for the Gerst Road Park in Perry Hall, a 22-acre recreational area that will be constructed in the Honeygo Village Center.

“My hope is that with this infusion of funding, we get close to final improvements at the Gerst Road Park site. The creation of this park will not just preserve green space in Perry Hall, but will eliminate dozens of single-family homes previously approved adjacent to the Glenside Farms community,” said Councilman Marks.
