Second teen arrested in connection with Rodgers Forge shooting

TOWSON, MD—Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department have arrested a second teen in connection with the shooting that occurred in Rodgers Forge last month.

Thursday’s arrest of a 16-year-old follows an arrest of a 15-year-old suspect earlier this week.

At just after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 13, officers responded to the 400-block of Dunkirk Road (21212) in reference to a reported shooting.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located 50-year-old Mark McKenzie suffering from a gunshot wound. He had reportedly been shot during a robbery while he was working in his garage. McKenzie was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A GoFundMe page has been established to help his family with medical expenses, as he is expected to need several surgeries. A community walk was also held in his honor.

Both suspects have been charged as adults.
