Baltimore County man arrested after pointing gun in I-695 road rage incident

BALTIMORE, MD—A Baltimore County man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman during a road rage incident on I-695, Maryland State Police said in a news release.

David Belt Jr., 41, of White Hall was charged with first- and second-degree assault and firearm offenses following the incident, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, police said.

Troopers were called about the road rage incident on I-695 near Greenspring Avenue. The victim, whose identity is not being released, told troopers that Belt pointed a firearm at her while they were both driving on the beltway.

No injuries were reported at the scene, police said.



Troopers investigated and found Belt’s vehicle on Thursday evening. He was arrested and taken to the Baltimore County Detention Center.  Police said they found two loaded handguns during his arrest.

The investigation is still ongoing.
