Flood Warning issued for Baltimore area

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Baltimore area.  The warning will remain in effect until 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.



At 9:52 a.m. EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to storms moving through the area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.

Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Baltimore, Towson, Catonsville, Woodlawn, Parkville, Carney, Perry Hall, Arbutus, Rosedale, Rossville, Brooklyn Park, White Marsh, Pumphrey, Linthicum, Lansdowne, Loch Raven Village, Linthicum Heights, Overlea, and Fullerton.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
