TOWSON, MD—Over 100 people participated in a community walk on Tuesday evening to show support for a man who was shot during a robbery earlier this month.
Mark McKenzie was shot while working in his garage at just after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 13, during a robbery in the 400-block of Dunkirk Road (21212).
McKenzie is facing several surgeries and long recovery. A GoFundMe page has been established for him and his family.
Tuesday evening’s walk took place in the Rodgers Forge community.
“We are taking this as seriously as it possibly can be taken,” said Councilman Mike Ertel. “There are no resources that aren’t being deployed to find the people that have done this. We will survive as a community.
Rogers Forge has always been a loving, great community.”
“We are stronger together and the strength of Rodgers Forge will ensure that this tragedy will not change who they were before, and are now,” Councilman Ertel added.
