Original story below…

TOWSON, MD—In response to the robbery and shooting incident that took place on Friday in Rodgers Forge, a community walk has been planned.

Mark McKenzie was robbed while working in his garage in the 400-block of Dunkirk Road (21212) on September 13th.

A community walk has been planned for Wednesday, September 18, at 5 p.m. in the Rodgers Forge neighborhood, according to Councilman Mike Ertel.

Those interested in participating should mee at Dumbarton Middle School, located at 300 Dumbarton Road (21212), at 5 p.m.

The route will go from Pinehurst, to Overbrook, to Heathfield, and back to the school. A map of the route is below.

In the event of rain, the walk will be postponed to a later date.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been established for Mark McKenzie and his family:

After a senseless act of violence in our beloved Rodgers Forge, our friend Mark Mckenzie is facing several surgeries and a long recovery. The outpouring of support from this community has been incredible and it is apparent that so many people want to help the Mckenzie family. Their house is overflowing with food so we thought it made sense to channel direct donations to them so they can use the funds for whatever they need during this difficult time. Thank you for all the love and please keep Mark, Laura, Aislinn, Ryan and Finn and their extended family in your prayers.

Those wishing to contribute can visit the GoFundMe page here.
