Child dies from injuries sustained in Dundalk house fire

DUNDALK, MD—A child who was injured in a Dundalk house fire last week has died, the Baltimore County Fire Department announced on Tuesday.

The child succumbed to injuries sustained in a September 4 dwelling fire in Dundalk. The victim has been identified as 8-year-old Nolan Mars of the 3000-block of Dunleer Road (21222).

Nolan was found in a second-floor bedroom suffering from cardiac arrest. Crews rescued Nolan from the home, immediately initiated life-saving measures, and transported him to a local hospital. An adult male and four children sustained minor injuries in the fire.

Nine cats also perished in the fire, which has been ruled accidental due to an electrical malfunction.
