Juvenile suspect arrested after Parkville schools placed on lockout status

PARKVILLE, MD—Police say a suspect is in custody after Parkville-area schools were placed on lockout status on Friday morning.

At just before 9 a.m., some area schools, including Parkville High School and St. Ursula School, were placed on lockout status due to unconfirmed reports of an individual in a vehicle waving a weapon.

“Lockout” status means the schools’ doors are locked and students aren’t allowed outside, but it’s otherwise business as usual inside the school.

The Baltimore County Police Department tells NottinghamMD.com that a juvenile suspect was taken into custody in the area of the school in reference to unrelated charges. No weapon was recovered or confirmed regarding this incident.

Schools have returned to normal operating status.
