PARKVILLE, MD—The 13th annual 9/11 Patriot Day Ride will roll through parts of Harford County and Baltimore County on Saturday morning.
Organized by The Hope & Peace Foundation, ride registration begins at 8 a.m. and will begin at around 10:45 a.m. The trip will be a 28-mile fully police-escorted and fire-supported ride that begins at the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company and ends at McAvoy’s, located at 2531 Putty Hill Avenue in Parkville.
Several Gold Star mothers and fathers will be serving as honorary ride captains. Ceremonies will begin at 10:05 a.m. at McAvoy’s with the reading of the names of the 74 Marylander’s who were killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Motorists should expect delays and closures at Northwind Road, East Joppa Road, Harford Road, southbound I-695 ramps, Putty Hill Avenue, Kings Ridge Road, and Old Harford Road.
