KINGSVILLE, MD—State Highway Administration crews will upgrade traffic barriers along MD 147 (Harford Road) at Little Gunpowder Falls and the Baltimore/Harford county line on Wednesday, September 4th. The $156,000 barrier upgrade work will be complete by late September, weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, crews will work on weekdays to remove and replace a 0.2-mile section of traffic barrier. During work hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, motorists can expect single-lane closures with flagging operations in effect to control two-way traffic on Harford Road.
Gunpowder Falls State Park trail users are advised to use caution when traveling in and out of the trail parking area along northbound MD 147 on the Harford County side of the Little Gunpowder Falls.
The barrier upgrade work on MD 147 is part of the State Highway Administration’s $5.7 million contract to upgrade traffic barriers and improve safety on state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor L. S. Lee, Inc. of York, PA will perform the work.
