Crews to improve pedestrian access on Martin Boulevard in Middle River

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—The Maryland State Highway Administration will begin improving pedestrian access on a section of MD 700/Martin Boulevard in eastern Baltimore County beginning later this week.

The work will begin on Thursday, August 15, and is expected to be complete by early fall, weather permitting.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, crews will begin the project along MD 700 (Martin Boulevard) from Kelso Drive to MD 150 (Eastern Boulevard). They will work weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The project includes:

  • Reconstruction of concrete sidewalk ramps;
  • Upgrading curb and gutter; and
  • Installing new crosswalk markings

Motorists can expect temporary daytime lane closures along any section of eastbound or westbound MD 700 while work is taking place. Contractor Paniagua’s Enterprises, Inc. (PEI) of Baltimore will perform the work.
